Spay and Neuter Assistance
The Wayne County Department of Animal Control Services feels strongly about the importance of spaying and neutering pets in an effort to battle pet overpopulation. Unfortunately, many animals lose their lives every day throughout the United States due to pet-overpopulation and in many cases, irresponsible pet ownership. Therefore, many organizations around the nation operate reduced-cost spay/neuter assistance programs for pet owners.
The Wayne County Humane Society is a volunteer organization in Wayne County that runs a reduced cost spay/neuter assistance program. The organization does not have a shelter facility, the members work from their respective homes. The Humane Society can be contacted by calling 919-736-7387. When calling the telephone number to the Wayne County Humane Society, you must first leave a message with your name and telephone number for them to contact you. The calls are usually returned in the evening. You will then be supplied with the requirements, dates and locations to apply for spay or neuter assistance.
The Humane Society"s Spay and Neuter Assistance Program is conducted in conjunction with local participating veterinarians.
