Borden Building Renovation - This building is being completely renovated to be used as the new Mental Health Building.  Construction began in March 2002 and should be completed by mid-May 2003.  It was originally built in 1914 by the Borden Brothers, and has been used in the past as ofices for lawyers, doctors, an architect, a drug store, and the Borden Brick and Tile Co. The Borden family donated the building to Wayne County in 1976, and various County departments, including Mental Health, Services on Aging, and Social Services have used it since then.
Federal Building RenovationWayne County purchased the Federal Building in 2001.  It was originally built in 1968 and most recently housed the Social Security Administration, which relocated to a new building. Renovations should by complete by July 2003 for the relocation of Emergency Services and 911.
