What is the "Golden A" award? The award was created in 1998 by the Wayne County Environmental Health Department to recognize establishments that continually meet/exceed the standards set forth by the State of North Carolina. To be eligible for the Golden "A" award the establishments must be inspected 4 times in the calendar year. During these inspections, the grade must be at least 95 or higher. By receiving "4" 95 or better grades in a row, these establishments have proven they are "Best of the Best."
