Information Technology (IT) is responsible for all technology for Wayne County. Staff works with each of the County Departments to determine their technology needs and provide assistance in meeting technology goals in the areas of computerization and communications.
The IT Department components include; hardware and software support, training, networking, system installation and repair, technology research and daily computer operations.
Wayne County worked with The Center for Public Technology, an operating unit of the School of Government at UNC-Chapel Hill to assist Wayne County with the assessment of, and planning for, their IT infrastructure. This report outlines the findings and recommendations of that project for Wayne County IT from 2003 - 2008. IT will be working on an update to this plan on an annual basis.
