Wayne County Planning Board
The Wayne County Planning Board consists of seven members appointed by the Wayne County Board of Commissioners. Terms are for three years and a person may serve three consecutive terms. The Board elects a chairman and vice-chairman in September of each year. The regular Board meeting is at 7:00 p.m. on the second Tuesday of each month in the County Administration Building, 209 South William Street, Goldsboro, N.C.
The Planning Board promotes an efficient use of land in Wayne County. Through this action the Board is responsible for subdivision and mobile home plat approval, making recommendations to the Board of Commissioners on zoning changes, street name changes and other planning documents, and approving site plans for junk yards and solid waste disposal sites.
