Medication Management

Things To Know

  • Always fill your prescriptions at one pharmacy. The pharmacy's computer system checks for interactions with other medications you are taking.  This is very important to prevent adverse reactions.
  • Always take the dosage as prescribed.  Do not scrimp to make the medication last longer.
  • Do not stop taking medications because you feel better.  Finish the treatment plan completely.
  • Call your doctor or 911 immediately if you experience any potential allergic reaction.

Saving Money On Prescription Drugs

  • Ask for generic medications, when available, and if you can tolerate them.
  • Ask about the Prescription Assistance Plans that exist.
  • Contact Wayne County Services on Aging for specific information regarding discount programs that are currently available in our area.
