In-Home Services
The goal of in-home services is to provide trained individuals to help older persons remain in, or return to their own homes with maximum personal independence.
Self-sufficiency, and improving quality of life is key to the program. Services are aimed at preventing the deterioration of individual's functional capacity, preventing abuse, neglect and/or exploitation and avoiding premature institutional care.
Care is provided at three levels of service depending on the complexity of home management and personal care tasks necessary. Some services include:
- Personal Care
- Shower/tub/bed or sponge baths
- Skin, hair, and mouth care
- Shaving
- Assist with toileting
- Skin breakdown observation
- Home Management
- Dust, sweep, mop, and vacuum
- Laundry
- Change linens
- Wash dishes, and clean kitchen
- Clean bathrooms
- Transportation
- Emotional support/communications
- Activity
- Assist with ambulation
- Range of motion
- Repositioning and transferring
- Nutrition
- Diet type
- Prepare meals
- Feed and assist with eating
