Wayne County Planning Director Connie Price was recognized by the Wayne County Commissioners during the June 5, 2007 meeting.
Price successfully completed the process and examination required to become a certified flood plain manager. The North Carolina Association of Flood Plain Manager’s only grants the certification to those professionals who meet the requirements and complete a comprehensive examination on the programs and standards to reduce flood losses in the nation.
Basically, the goals are to formalize procedures, enhance individual professional development goals, promote an understanding of relevant subject matter, convey new concepts and practices, as well as to build partnerships among organizations and agencies that share in the North Carolina Certified Flood Plain Manager’s Program.
Price received a plaque in honor of his accomplishment.
