Coronavirus (COVID-19)

The Wayne County Health Department and Wayne County Office of Emergency Services continue to coordinate with federal and state agencies to respond to the COVID-19 outbreak.

Below you will find the latest data on COVID-19 from the Wayne County Health Department. The Health Department receives notice of all positive cases through the North Carolina Electronic Disease Surveillance System (NC EDSS) and compiles the data to be shown below.

The CDC recommends you stay home and separate yourself from other people in the home as much as possible if: 

  • You are sick with COVID-19

  • You believe you might have it 

  • You think you might have COVID-19 and have mild symptoms. 

Before going to a health care provider, clinic, hospital or emergency room, call ahead to describe your symptoms and how you might have been exposed to the virus.

If you do not have a primary care doctor, visit https://www.unchealthcare.org/ and click the purple "Coronavirus Help" tab at the bottom.

If you are having a medical emergency, call 911 or call ahead then go to the Emergency Department.
