Wayne County, NC – The Wayne County Health Department is committed to supporting our community’s health and will remain open to deliver essential services. To mitigate the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19), starting Wednesday, March 18, the health department will begin implementing special protocols for the health and safety of patients, clients, residents, and staff.
- All clients and visitors, regardless of age, are highly encouraged to stay home if experiencing a fever, cough, or other respiratory symptoms. Appointments will be rescheduled as needed or once conditions have improved. If services are required, please call 919-731-1000 before visiting to be screened by a nursing professional.
- All clients and visitors who enter our facilities will be asked a few questions to determine if there is a risk of exposure. If there is a risk, proper procedures will be followed.
- All clients are asked to limit the number of visitors during their appointment to the least amount necessary.
As always, residents must continue washing their hands often, practice social distancing, cover coughs and sneezes, and stay home if sick. For more information on the coronavirus, visit the Wayne County Health Department’s COVID-19 webpage at www.waynegov.com/coronavirus.
