During my time at Aviano Air Base there were these huge marathons that the locals and the Air Base would compete in, some of the local businesses would come together about every 3 months and throw these marathons. It was an excellent bridging tool to get people from Aviano and Pordenone and the Airmen on base to get together and meet new people and their cultures.
