Safety is an integral part of the overall objective at making Wayne County government employees and Wayne County citizens live and work in a safe and healthy environment. Reducing or ultimately eliminating injuries, accidents and loss to our employees and citizens has long-reaching effects on all our lives.

Safety Functions

  • Coordinate OSHA Training
  • Investigate all injuries and near misses
  • Determine root causes and implement actions for prevention, planning and mitigation
  • Ensure the safety of all county employees concerning their safety at work and away from work
  • Make recommendations to County Manager on current local, state and national safety trends
  • Monitor compliance of Wayne County departments and personnel to OSHA, NC. Department of Labor and internal policies concerning loss control.
