Safety is an integral part of the overall objective at making Wayne County government employees and Wayne County citizens live and work in a safe and healthy environment. Reducing or ultimately eliminating injuries, accidents and loss to our employees and citizens has long-reaching effects on all our lives.
Safety Functions
- Coordinate OSHA Training.
- Investigate all injuries and near misses.
- Determine root causes and implement actions for prevention, planning and mitigation.
- Ensure the safety of all county employees concerning their safety at work and away from work.
- Make recommendations to County Manager on current local, state and national safety trends.
- Monitor compliance of Wayne County departments and personnel to OSHA, NC. Department of Labor and internal policies concerning loss control.
