Radio Testing Procedure

Purpose
To ensure the radios that operate on the countywide radio system operate to a satisfactory level in order to provide the users with a variety of manufacturers for competitive pricing.

Procedure
In the event that a radio manufacturer would like to sell radio equipment to any user on the county radio which is not on the approved list, that vendor must provide to the county a radio for each model they would like to have tested and the software and any related equipment for programming at no cost to the county.

Once the radio has been programmed and working on the system, it will be tested for a minimum of 30 days. If at anytime during the testing process there is an issue discovered, the manufacturer will be required to correct the issue. Once the correction has been made another 30 day test will start. This process will continue until there are no seen problems with radio software or operations for 30 consecutive days.
