The Wayne County Health Department’s General Communicable Disease program works closely with community members, clinicians, private organizations and the state communicable disease to control and prevent communicable diseases in our county.
This program conducts surveillance, investigates disease outbreaks and recommend control measures to prevent the spread of disease. The department serves as a consultant to the community on issues about communicable disease and aims to proactively educate and address concerns through collaboration with our community Epi-Team.
All questions regarding communicable diseases may be directed to 919-731-1201.
