Wayne County, NC – The Wayne County Office of Emergency Services will be opening the following shelter locations in Wayne County for individuals during Hurricane Dorian.
Spring Creek Middle School at 3579 South NC-111, Seven Springs, NC 28578
Carver Heights Elementary at 411 Bunche Drive, Goldsboro, NC 27530
Additional shelters for overflow will be announced later if needed.
The shelters will open Thursday, September 5, 2019 at 8AM unless conditions warrant the shelters opening sooner.
Breakfast will not be served on Thursday but meals will be provided beginning Thursday at lunch. Shelter residents should bring clothing, bedding, personal hygiene items, snacks, games, medication, insurance information, important documents, and specific supplies for: infants, children, and the elderly. Pets are not allowed at these shelters with the exception of designated service animals. Pets can be sheltered at Wayne County Animal Services, 1600 Clingman Street, Goldsboro, NC 27534.
